For the "Renegade Legion" game from FASA. I'm not sure which book. 1992-ish?
For what it's worth, this piece appears on p.31 of Prefect, the RL planetary-campaign rules. The exchanges of fire give the piece a very dynamic feel; they also highlight precisely how dangerous an assault-landing operation always is, which makes it a great fit for the book. Many other FASA illustrations of the time were too visually complicated for their own good, but you’ve included all the necessary details and nothing extraneous, which leaves the viewer to fill in the rest — a sound choice, in my opinion. Another sterling work!
Thanks so much! I always find it's a careful balance, between having lots of detail (which I love) and getting lost in noise. I'm finding it a lot easier with my current work, where I use greyscale shading to shape the image.
I rad in the nove"l Damn If We Do". That the tanks could land on their on on a planet if tehy did bnot deviate 28 degrees. But I always wonder if there was a dropship for them? Thanks for answering my question. Now if I could have the specs.?
Sorry, I only did some of the drawings, and I haven't cracked open a Renegade Legion book in over 20 years. I haven't the foggiest idea.
Oh well. Back to the dream department. Hey could you do a tank coming out of the water, or the fog? I think it will be interesting. Also what renegade legions book you have?
One of the best images, thanks!
